Internet has recently been brought back into my life!

It is a difficult feat to update the blog when you are
just starting a new job (dream job that is).

Anyway down to racing.

What a fantastic season it is turning out to be. It will be a fight
to the end with red bull and brawn and I for one will be watching every turn
and acceleration intently.

The German GP is next and with Vettel in such good form will Button be able
to get his revenge and take the German GP away from the German?

Can’t wait to find out!

Is Vettel coming after button?

Unfortunately the Bahrain 2009 Grand Prix did not reach the dramatic highs of the
previous races.
Congratulations must go out to Jenson Button on his 3rd race win of the season.
Ferrari scored their first points of the season and surprisingly it was the pessimist Kimi
that came away with the points.

Nice little animation of the 2009 Bahrain track.

Looks like a hectic desert to be racing around in, especially in that afternoon heat.

The countdown is on for the next exciting installment of the grand prix season!

What a topsy turvy season it has been so far. Unbelievable and exciting.

This is where you will begin to see the real mental strength and aptitude  of the

top drivers. It has already been reported that Kimi has said this season is over, time to

focus on the next one.

picture-11

Is that him being pessimistic and defeated or a realist attitude that

there is really no plausible way back from Ferrari’s horrendous start. Felipe Massa I bet picture-2

will not have given up hope of at least making some impact on this season and you can bet that Lewis will still fight tooth and nail every step of the way.

picture-3

The distinct mindset of these drivers makes for a fascinating season as they are all relatively in dire situations.

It will be interesting to see how their mindsets unfold, who keeps fighting and who sulks off into the background.

Get set for the next exciting round of the F1 Grand Prix Season and

Keep Racing!

Unbelievable podium at the Chinese Grand Prix. I would love to meet the person

that predicted Button and Barrichello would be ahead after 3 races and that Ferrari, McLaren and BMW

were in struggle city. Surely somewhere in the world there was a person who predicted this and I would

like to know who that is!

Coming off the back of the now famous Brawn 1-2 at the Australian Grand Prix, it led me to thinking that in sport you never know what is just around the corner.

On the 5th of March 2009 Jenson Button and Rubens Barichello may have been forgiven for thinking that their F1 careers were over. With no buyer for their former Honda team they did not have a drive for the 2009 season ahead. However just 3 short weeks later they were finishing first and second at the Australian Grand Prix… unbelievable.

Similarly Ben Graham a punter for the Arizona Cardinals went on an incredible journey. After spending years with the NY Jets and winning the 2008 Superbowl with them he was subsequently dropped by the NY Jets on September 16 2008, just under 2 months out from the 2008 Superbowl, at 35 years of age surely this meant his NFL football career was over? One week later on September 22 the Jets resigned Graham only to drop him again a week later on September 29, surely this time it meant his career was finished?

Unexpectedly on October 20 2008 Ben Graham signed a new deal with New Orleans, he played that weekend before being dropped on October 28 2008… Ben Graham however did not give up on his NFL career and after being dropped three times in two months with only 3 months until the Superbowl he once again found some good luck.

On December 1st 2008 the lowly ranked outsiders the Arizona Cardinals signed Ben Graham to be their punter. Against all odds and quite amazingly the Arizona Cardinals actually made it to the Superbowl, ahead of any of ther previous teams that had actually dropped Ben during the season! Unfortunately the Cardinals narrowly missed to on winning the Superbowl, going down to the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-23.

Ben Graham is likely to play another season in the NFL after all hope had been lost!

As you can see all three of these sports stars had remarkable changes in fortune and ended up in remarkable positions. You just never know what is around the corner. Button, Barrichello and Graham all came back from sheer adversity and returned to the very peak of their sport.

The point is, stay focused, stay positive and stay committed because you never know what is around the corner, who you are going to meet, when you will get that break and what may happen.

Keep Racing!

Robin.

How are Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Kimi Räikkönen, Fernando Alonso and other top F1 drivers preparing for the 2009 F1 season ahead?

In this article I am going to look at what goals the top F1 drivers may be setting for the 2009 F1 season ahead!

Goal setting:

The top drivers will already have in place some targets and achievements that they want to achieve in the upcoming 2009 season. Lets have a look at what some of them may be:

Lewis Hamilton: May have set goals involving leading the drivers championship by race 6 in Monaco. He may have set goals to finish at least in the top 4 of the first 5 races of the season.

Felipe Massa: may have set goals detailing his desire to be the number 1 driver for his team. To continually finish ahead of Kimi Räikkönen to give him the best chance of being supported come the end of the season. Won’t he be hungry this season?

Fernando Alonso: may be setting goals to continue his stellar form of that he finished the season in last year. Setting goals to finish in the top 5 of the first 6 races and to establish himself as a real threat and championship contender.

Sebastian Buemi: may have goals in relation to successfully completing his first race and feeling comfortable in the team and the car. To come into F1 and show that he is a force to be reckoned with. He may also have goals in relation to team dynamics and unifying the team to work with him to achieve success in 2009.

Robert Kubica: may be setting goals outlining his desire to be in a strong position by mid season and able to challenge for the title. Finishing each race and getting points.

Maybe his goal is to unite the team and spark some positive energy to ensure a successful 2009 season with no animosity unlike the end of the 2008 F1 season where there was some tension within the team.

Kimi Räikkönen  may have set a goal to come across as more charismatic and friendly in front of the media…. Nah that didn’t happen!!!

The goals above are just possibilities.

The point is though that a lot of the top drivers will have established very specific benchmarks and targets that they will be working towards for the 2009 season. They will be working towards these achievements and even if they don’t tick the box it will give them something to measure their season by.

If you are a driver, coach, mechanic or anyone else involved in the sport let me ask you: Do you have your goals that you want to achieve in 2009? Do you have a path that you want to follow and one that is measurable with goals and benchmarks set along the way?

If not, why not?

Let us know what some of your goals for 2009 are, write them down and you will notice how much more likely you are to stick to them once they are up for the world to see! Write up 3 goals for 2009 and we will all hold you accountable for them and your success!!

Keep Racing!
